Dave was born December 10, 1967 in Killeen, Texas. When his father was discharged from the military, he and his family moved to Ventura County where he graduated from Westlake High School in 1986. After attending Pierce and Moorpark Colleges, Dave began a career path as a firefighter. In September 1989, one week prior to beginning the Allan Hancock College Fire Academy, Dave gave his life to Jesus Christ in a weekend church service at Living Word Christian Fellowship in Newbury Park California, led by Pastor Dale Everest (now LightHouse Christian Fellowship, led by Pastor John Tolle.) Dave immediately began volunteering in the young adult ministry helping in any way possible. As he continued in his fire service career path it was not long before he began to sense a deep desire to pursue Christian ministry. Dave began his career with the Los Angeles County Fire Department in January 1992 and one year later was married to Rebecca.

Dave and Rebecca were invited to volunteer as a youth workers during the summer of 1995. November 1996, they were asked to participate as members of a leadership team for the youth ministry. Two years later, Dave was invited to participate in weekly pastoral staff meetings. He arranged his fire department work schedule to ensure his consistent involvement in these meetings as well as youth group services for the next five years. August 2003, Dave was invited by Pastor John Tolle to take a full-time position as the Director of Youth Ministries for LightHouse Christian Fellowship. Dave requested and was granted two years of approved absence from the Fire Department, then submitted his official resignation in 2005 and obtained his Foursquare District Ministerial License. Over the course of his time of service at the LightHouse, Dave has participated in leadership of two missions teams, each of 40+ people (to Tepic, Mexico and Buras, Louisiana), coordinated multiple church wide events with attendances from 100 to 1000 people, taught weekly youth messages consistently for over 10 years, has led many students to Christ and developed 20+ leaders through his youth ministry. He has also been included as a platform pastor in all weekend services for four years.

Dave is currently the Director of Middle and High Student Ministries and Facility & Property Overseer for LightHouse Christian Fellowship. He volunteers as a member of the Foursquare Gold Coast District Youth Council and Camp Leadership Team. He takes occasional college classes at the King’s College and Seminary in Van Nuys California. Dave loves surfing with his wife, watching his daughters play water polo and playing his harmonica.

Dave, Rebecca, Phoebe (12) and Chelsea (10) live in Newbury Park, California and have served faithfully in their church for over 18 years.
